Why Exfoliation is so important?

Exfoliation is a key component of any well-rounded skincare routine.  In short, it eliminates dead cells, polishes, refines pores, and smoothes wrinkles.

Skin cells re-generate every month.  But as we age, this process tends to take longer.  When you exfoliate, you are proactively scrubbing away the dead skin cells.  Doing this on a regular basis will make your face look healthier and more supple.  Aside from boosting your complexion, the cellular renewal that comes with regular exfoliation will give your skin a youthful appearance and will keep wrinkles at bay.  It is important to remember, however, that over-exfoliation can flush out the skin's natural oil and cause dryness.  For this reason, we recommend exfoliating 2 to 3 days a week.

Do you get breakouts every now and then?  Exfoliating may be the preventative measure you never knew you needed.  Exfoliating agents contain salicylic acid, and ingredient well-known for its ability to fight acne.  In addition, exfoliation beads seep through the skin to give you a deep, thorough cleanse that you cannot get from a regular facial wash.  Aside from preventing acne, this deep cleanse also gets rid of blackheads.

Our skin produces sebum, or natural oil.  While this is necessary to keep the face from drying out, the sebum can quickly trap dirt into the pores.  You would think that washing it with water and soap will do the trick.  Unfortunately, this only leads to the buildup of oil, dirt, and traces of soap in your face--- making your pores appear larger!

Exfoliation will prevent this by digging deep into the pores to flush this residual buildup, making the texture of your skin that much smoother.
